I thought we could all use a little break from the heavy minded food posts. Today I'd like to share some of the kid's thoughts I have been collecting for the last few weeks. Enjoy!
Jacob: "Mom, Keryaki sauce is a very spicy condiment." OK, first of all "keryaki," but also "condiment." What 7 year old uses the word condiment in every day conversation? Oh boy.

One day, after Andrew hit Jacob with his toy fire truck for the fifth time, Jacob very calmly looked at me and said, "Mom, I think Andrew caught my violence."

We love to watch America's Funniest Home Videos together. One night, we saw a video of a young boy who put his leg behind his head and then got stuck. The boy was writhing around on the floor trying to undo his twisted body. Jacob thought this was hysterical and in the midst of laughing said to me, "He must have been doing Yoda and got stuck!" He's so obsessed with Star Wars...I thought this comment was priceless!

Two weeks ago, I had to attend an out of town training for work. I needed to be there particularly early, so I asked my sister-in-law to take care of the boys in the morning. When we walked out of the house, it was still dark outside. Andrew pointed to the sky and said, "Moon, Mom! Moon!" Jacob, in response to Andrew, said, "Yeah, it's really, really early. So early, it's still dark out, so be quiet Andrew! Everyone who doesn't have to go to work early or go to Catholic school is still sleeping!"
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Andrew must be in touch with his German heritage. When he points something out as belonging to someone else, he says, "Das is Jacob's. Das is Mom's." Too funny!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And lastly, Andrew calls burps "barts." One night while getting ready for bed, he ate some tooth paste, which he calls "pooth taste" when I wasn't looking. "Oh well," I said, "at least his barts will smell minty fresh!"
Today, I will reflect on my two boys, and be grateful for the smiles they bring me, for even in the midst of stress and chaos, there are no two people I love more than them!
