How To Give A Cat A Bath

Rule number one: cat bathing is not an endeavor one should pursue alone.  Instead, one must apply the "strength in numbers" theory.

First, gather everything you need into one place - your entire family, 2-3 towels, cat shampoo, and your "How to Bathe a Cat" instruction manual.

Wet cat, then add shampoo.  Scrub well.

You may get the impression that the cat doesn't like the water.  Don't be fooled.  They love it.

"More water, please!"  (See - a perfect example!)

Warning: Paws may expand when wet.

"More soap, Dad."

Rinse well.

"I hate you right now."

"Is the coast clear?  I wanna make a run for it!"

Clean never tasted so good!

Be sure to encourage your cat  to shake the water from his ears.

A warm hair dryer can be a great comfort...

...but don't be surprised if you have to put your cat in a head-lock momentarily.

A soft bristled brush helps tremendously with grooming efforts.

Cat may appear to have been permed for several days following the bath.  Do not be concerned.  The perm will relax and the cat will return to normal.

Tip:  chilling a beer (or two) in the freezer while bathing the cat is highly recommended.
